The Kia Cross GT Concept has the privelege of being the lone concept car here at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show. The styling exercise points to a hole in Kia's lineup above the Sorento and a bit more upscale. The Cross GT is based on the same underpinnings we saw in the rear-drive Kia GT Concept which debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, which is somewhat interesting on it's own. Given the slot in the lineup, we'd normally expect platform sharing with Hyundai to result in the guts of this vehicle being based on the newly redesigned Sante Fe. The Cross GT's styling remains true to Kia's current Peter Shreyer-era of sleek, aggressive and futuristic design and we fully expect to see some of its cues leak out into production within time.?Kia's spokesmen are remaining tight-lipped as to whether or not the Cross GT is planned for production.
